Irazu

Our spring break continued on Wednesday March 18 with a day trip up to Irazu, the nearest volcano to Coronado. Clark had already seen it in January and so we had prioritized other sights over this one. It was the perfect time to go see it since he had to work. Also, the weather was much better compared to when Clark had come in January. My parents were actually able to drive themselves and walk around the crater.

Flower

Judging by the leaves, its been pretty dry up here.

Looks like cauliflower but its just flowers.

At the visitors center we had a little photo shoot.

My dad posing as a sloth.

Everyone was pretty hungry so we stopped in the first town on the way down the mountain. "We serve and cook with love."

The outside isn't too unique, but it turned out to be a fun little restaurant.

These different quotes were posted everywhere.

There was kind of a "tee-pee" affect inside.

They served free appetizers of squash soup. It was delicious. I think I helped the kids eat theirs. Its one of my favorite foods.

My dad's casado. His meat was BBQ veal. It was the best meat of the day. He needed more "dressing" for his salad, and I said if I asked for additional dressing, ketchup and mayo would come to the table. We all found that amusing since it is often the Tico choice for dressing. And yest that is what happened in addition to a delivery of oil and vinegar.

Classic Sopa de Olle.

Chifrio.

We finished out our day with another trip to the airport to collect Clark's family. We were all set to head to Quepos the next day.
