Flora y Fauna: Braulio Carrillo

Interesting plants from Braulio Carrillo. Zoom in to get a closer look! The colors are SO vibrant and many have interesting shapes.

For this, the red part may be considered a leaf while the yellow part sticking out of the middle is the flower.

Our first look at the leaf cutter ants!

You can see where the ants have eaten the leaves.

I love the way this vine grows up this tree.

A view from the midway point, where we had a water break before heading up to the longest lines. The day was perfect; not too hot and we beat the rain!

My grandmother would have loved to get greenery to grow this way on some of the rocks in her garden! She even had me paint some of the stone statuary with yogurt hoping to encourage this sort of growth.

The term we would use for this view is "jungle" even though this is simply Costa Rican forest.

A hide and seek picture. What is in there??
