Flora y Fauna: La Paz and Poas

A view from the deck of the registration center of La Paz.

Interesting fallen leaf.

Bright foliage.

The rainforest.

Neat water slides down the rock walls of the cliff.

Broken seed pod.

Pretty palm ferns.

Beautiful Costa Rica!

Poor man's umbrella...

They are EVERYWHERE in these mountains.

Red banana-like plant.

Another huge bug. Costa Rica is the start in insectos grande!

Leave or cocoon?

I nicknamed this plant something inappropriate for the blog.

From a distance...

This trees bark was a bright orange color, like it was sprayed with something, but I think its natural
.

Caterpillar plant.

Those yellow nodes are flowers.

Exotic flower.

Hhhhmmm...what was I looking at? Oh right! There's a little bird in there. This guy was eating out of the hummingbird feeders. Upper center slightly left.

Ecosystem in the center of this huge aloe-type plant.

New poor man's umbrella leaf sprouting.

HUMUNGOUS!! It feels like plastic.

At least 4 feet in diameter. Yes, I was fascinated by these!

  1. Life in Missouri is not as fun as you seem to be having. We’re enjoying our second snow ⛄️ The Leach family came over to create a snowman family in the front yard during the first 4” snow but bouts of flu are keeping my front lawn pristine.

Indexing has become my passion during the long winter days; with over 35,00 names reviewed since January 10th. That and gospel study morning and night have kept me from climbing the walls 😁
Especially this week because the ramp on the van is so contrary! Tuesday after physical therapy I stopped at Walmart and when I returned to the van the ramp wouldn’t deploy. At 30 degrees with a 20 mph breeze it wasn’t good timing. But The Lord provided a young man who pulled the ramp out so I could get home. Thankfully the Elders were in town to pull it out again so I could get into the house 🏡
Fast Eddies will look at it on Tuesday. Hopefully it’s the electric motor or something simple!

Yesterday my Niece called to say my last sibling fell, her Dad, is in the final stages of dementia. Amber has been hiding the truth about him just like I did for Marvin, but David isn’t as mild of temperament. He’s in the Bend Oregon ER. My heart wants to spend time with him and Amber, but I’d just be one more person to work around so it’s best for me to stay home. We’ll have to wait until I can join him on the other side of the veil.

That’s most of my news. Btw, the last pic of the 4 foot leaf is even bigger than our Elephant Ears!
Keep smiling! Love and Hugs, Cristina
